The Esrin Sossai Quintett was founded in 2016. The band first met at the precollege of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, the constellation being more a coincidence at first place. As the time went by, they noticed that playing together was more than just having a good time at school. They started to play concerts in venues, such as the „City Garden Hotel Zug“, „Schabernack partout variété“, „Zunfthaus Kreuz“, „El Barrio“, private venues and others. The Esrin Sossai Quintett played mainly new interpreted jazz-standards, where latin-jazz played an important role in their repertoire. The band also interpreted the singer’s own compositions. Playing about 50 concerts a year, the quintett was literally well-rehearsed! If you wonder why the quintett was named after the singer, when there was a democratic way of handling their musical life all together: naming the band after the singer is a kind of „unspoken jazz-tradition“…
